Heartland Festival invites you to talk about menopause
Four experts on femtech and women’s health are on stage at the Heartland Festival at Egeskov Castle, inviting the audience to engage in a discussion on menopause. The event will take place on Saturday, June 14, at 3:30 p.m.
Dr Vanessa Julia Carpenter went through pre-menopause at 37 while completing her PhD in designing meaningful, smart products. She now applies her PhD research to her work with femtech (female technology) as co-founder of FemtecFemtech Studios. She is also co-founder of the Nordic Women’s Health Hub and editor at TechTruster.
Marie Foegh is a medical doctor from the University of Copenhagen in 1969. She is a specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics with a special interest in female sex hormone disorders. She has been an Associate Professor at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C., USA.
Dr Brittany Barreto is an advocate for advancing innovation in women’s health and wellness with a focus on raising awareness, catalyzing investment and innovation, and providing data-driven insights and strategic advice.
In her PhD thesis, media researcher Katrine Sommer Boysen examines media representations of menopause in women. When she started in 2023, menopause was being talked about – both in the media and in real life – but no one had looked at the portrayal of menopause in TV fiction.
